The Netherlands Comparative Culture
The Nehterlands program is led by Dr. Lisa Walker of the Department of Sociology and lasts from March 2nd, 2017 to March 12th, 2017. Students participating in this program will receive credit for SOCY 4091: Comparative Cultural Sociology (3 credit hours). building foundation in El SalvadorEL Salvador Habitat For Humanity Build
The El Salvador program is led by Dr. Scott Fitzgerald of the Department of Sociology and Sean Langley of the Dean of Students Office and lasts from May 12th, 2017 to May 21st, 2017. This program is a collaboration between the UNC Charlotte Habitat for Humanity (HFH) Campus Chapter, the local Charlotte affiliate of HFH, and HFH El Salvador. The program offers an opportunity for students to build homes side-by-side with Salvadorian families, learning about their culture and lives. We will review applications on a rolling basis until the program is filled - since we only take 10 students be sure to apply soon! For more information about this and other programs visit the program website.

Second Summer 5 Week Session in Manchester England
The Manchester program will be led by Dr. Scott Fitzgerald and will last from July 5th, 2017 to August 10, 2017. Students participating in this program received credit for SOCY 3091 W (Writing Intensive): Special Topics: Community and Identity (3 credit hours) and SOCY 4125: Urban Sociology (3 credit hours).
